Why do we stand to sing?
"Then some Levites...STOOD UP and praised the Lord, the God Israel, with a very loud voice." (2 Chron. 20:10)
"After this I looked and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, STANDING before the throne and in front of the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands. And they cried out in a loud voice, "Salvation belongs to our God, who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb." (Rev. 7:9-10)

Why do we lift our hands?
"I will praise you as long as I live, and in your name I will LIFT UP MY HANDS." (Psalm 63:4).  "LIFT UP YOUR HANDS in the sanctuary and praise the LORD." (Psalm 134:2) " I want men everywhere to LIFT UP HOLY HANDS in prayer, without anger or disputing." (1 Tim. 2:8)

Why do we sing in tongues and in English?
"For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays, but my mind is unfruitful. So what shall I do? I will pray with my spirit, but I will also pray with my mind; I will SING WITH MY SPIRIT, but I will also SING WITH MY MIND." (1 Cor. 14:14-15)

Why do we sing choruses as well as hymns?
"Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing PSALMSHYMNS and SPIRITUAL SONGS with gratitude in your hearts to God." (Col. 3:16)

What is prophecy?
"...The Sovereign LORD has spoken - who can but PROPHESY?"  (Amos 3:8)  "But everyone who PROPHESIES speaks to men for their strengthening, encouragement and comfort." (1 Cor. 14:3)

What do we prophesy?
"Follow the way of love and eagerly desire spiritual gifts, especially the gift of PROPHECY." (1 Cor. 14:1)  "Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good, to another miraculous powers, to another PROPHECY". (1 Cor. 12:7,10)
